  • The cannabis plant has over 100 complex cannabinoids. With constant crossbreeding, advances in farming and agriculture, and weather changes, there are new cannabinoids developed and discovered everyday. Here are some of the most commonly discussed.

  • Found in cannabis, THC-A is the most common type of cannabinoid found in plants. It is non-psychoactive. It has anti-seizure, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor cell qualities.

  • The most well known cannabinoid, THC is what is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis consumption. THC can be used to treat depression, seizures, pain, sleep apnea, appetite, and glaucoma.

  • Known to stunt the growth of cancer cells, reduce vomiting and nausea, and reduce inflammation, CBD-A is one of four results made converting CBG-A into a cannabinoid. If decarboxylated, CBD-A becomes a CBD.

  • With anti-bacterial, anti-tumor, bone stimulant, blood pressure reducer, and neurogenesis effects, CBG’s are a powerful part of the cannabinoid. It is not psychoactive, but can alter plants and their effects. It is considered the mother cannabinoid.

  • Terpenes are the aromatic oils that plants like cannabis produce. These oils are responsible for the smell and flavor of the buds. With over distinctly 100 known terpenes in cannabis alone, they can vary greatly due to a number of factors, including weather, climate, age, fertilizer, amongst others. Here are some of the most commonly discussed.
